Three meticulously appointed double bedrooms blend seamlessly with the island’s natural character. The master suite features a private ensuite, while two additional bedrooms share a luxurious bathroom – all appointed with organic Tasmanian amenities. An additional host suite soon to be added, boasting gorgeous views over the Hazards, will allow the island to accommodate eight guests in total.
The island’s centerpiece remains a stunning living space cantilevered over the high-water mark. Here, guests may gather around the suspended open fireplace and contemplate the ever-changing seascape. Here, your private chef will make magic from Tasmania’s highest-quality local produce as you watch the light shift across Freycinet’s iconic pink granite peaks.
Just steps from the water’s edge, each bedroom offers uninterrupted views, premium linens, and unique details that complement the natural surroundings. The master suite features a private ensuite bathroom, while two additional bedrooms share a second ensuite, all appointed with organic Tasmanian toiletries and thoughtful touches designed to elevate your experience.
As night falls, the island transforms. Hundreds of penguins and shearwaters return to their burrows in this protected seabird rookery, creating an unforgettable natural symphony beneath some of the clearest stargazing skies in Tasmania.

Our stay was part of a multi-leg surprise for my wife, from the air to the sea, as we landed by seaplane on an adventure for two. We boarded our connecting sea taxi to enjoy one the most unique spots in the world… Your own private island, no-one else but you and of course the penguins, the bird life and surrounding sea changes.. all in the middle of the Fraycinet national park. Off grid, no TV and beauty all around. My hat goes off to the visionary owners who have created a truly unique piece of Australian traveler accommodation. Our limited photos do not give this place justice, nor in the view, the smell, the colour of flora or the way we feel in writing this. If isolation, intimacy and time is what you crave then you must stay on picnic island for this experience.
