On island dining
Taste the best of Tasmania.
This is a place known beyond its shores for the quality of its seafood, beef, lamb, pork, poultry and game. And from wasabi to saffron to truffles, apples and berries and grains, to organic and biodynamic foods and wines, and spirits, there is a bounty that we would love to help you explore. Naturally, dietary preferences will always be accommodated.
A private island needs a private chef. Throughout your stay, Picnic Island’s private chef will take care of personal culinary desires, inspired by the seasons and the rich produce of Tasmania.
"A true taste of place, every meal is part of the journey"

Culinary experiences
Tasting food at its source is one of life’s undeniable pleasures. You can enjoy oysters where they grow, embark on a sea-to-plate fishing trip, or tour local wineries and distilleries. We can even organise on-island private whisky and wine tastings.
How to get here
Picnic Island is around two and a half hours by road from Hobart and Launceston airports. Alternatively, a seaplane or helicopter is a 30-minute flight from Hobart. From the shore, it’s a 10-minute trip in our custom-built boat.
