Getting here

Arriving, by road or air.

Picnic Island is an island off the island of Tasmania, which is an island off Australia. Once on the ground in Tasmania, it is around two and a half hours by road from Hobart and Launceston airports.

Alternatively, a seaplane or helicopter is a 30-minute flight from Hobart. From the shore, it’s a 10-minute trip in our custom-built boat.

Our boat

Our handsome custom-built boat whisks guests from the shore to Picnic Island across Coles Bay, and we are told that the sea air works wonders after a long journey.

Our weather

Tasmania is known for its temperate but intense climate, with weather that changes, sometimes, by the hour. The elements are in charge: come prepared for cold, wind, rain, and sun. Some experiences, as well as boat transfers, may need to be rescheduled. We are well prepared for all eventualities, so that your experience is authentic and, most importantly, safe.

Flying to Tasmania

The airports of Hobart and Launceston connect domestically to internationally connected hubs such as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, while Hobart has direct international flights to and from Auckland, New Zealand.
